2002 BS Landscape Horticulture
Concentration in Design & Contracting
My academic adventure began with a passion for reading and classic literature at the University of Colorado. However, the pull to the natural sciences especially the call of the plant world could not be ignored. I transferred to the Horticulture program at Colorado State University. I worked though the Design and Contracting Concentration, enjoying the internships, instructors, studios and especially the rigorous plant ID courses.
After many years Designing and Contracting Residential Landscape projects along the Front Range, I started donating my time to municipal projects in The City of Longmont Parks Opens Space and Trails Department. Deconstructing Master plans and connecting with share holders sparked a passion for large scale landscape planning. Then off to CSU MLA program I went. It was here that my passion for sustainable landscaping was solidified through courses at SOGES, The School of Global Environmental Sustainability.
